Transparency & file names
JPEG cannot store transparency. “Auto” uses a white background for JPEG and keeps transparency for PNG, WebP and AVIF.
Privacy & limits
Browser-side processing: the selected pictures are processed locally in the visitor’s browser. This plugin does not upload the selected image files to WordPress.
Metadata: conversion through the browser canvas normally removes EXIF metadata such as camera model and GPS data from the exported file.
Format support: PNG and JPEG are widely supported. WebP and AVIF export depend on the visitor’s browser. Unsupported formats are detected before conversion where possible.
Large files: very large pictures require more browser memory and may be slower on mobile devices.
How to use it
Convert and resize pictures in a controlled workflow
Select one or more image files, choose the output format and optionally apply a resize preset. The preview compares the original and converted image, while the file table shows the output dimensions and estimated file size.
Choose files
Use the upload area or drag pictures onto the tool. Multiple files can be processed in one batch.
Set output options
Choose JPG, PNG, WebP or AVIF, adjust quality and resize by width, height, scale or custom dimensions.
Preview and download
Create a preview for the selected file, then download one converted picture or process the complete batch.
Format guide
Which output format should you use?
PhotosGood for camera pictures and large screenshots when small file size is more important than transparency.
GraphicsUseful for sharp diagrams, UI screenshots and transparent graphics. PNG quality is lossless and does not use the quality slider.
Web imagesModern browser formats can reduce file size strongly, but export support depends on the visitor’s browser.
FAQ
Picture converter questions
Are my images uploaded to WordPress?
No. The conversion is done locally in the browser using the canvas API. The selected image files are not uploaded by this plugin.
Why is the quality slider disabled for PNG?
PNG is a lossless format in browser canvas export. The quality slider is only relevant for lossy exports such as JPEG, WebP and AVIF.
Does conversion keep EXIF metadata?
Browser canvas export normally removes EXIF metadata such as camera model, orientation and GPS information from the converted output file.
